RESCUE
At Heavenly Horses, we rescue animals in need. That’s the bottom line. We take in horses (and sometimes other animals) facing starvation, serious medical conditions their owners can’t manage, or situations where they’re at real risk.
We focus on the ones we believe we can help rehabilitate to live a good, pain-free life because that’s what we’re good at. For horses we rehome, we don’t just find them a loving forever home. We rehabilitate them first: we give them the training and time they need to become solid, trustworthy companions, ready to connect with their new owners. We believe one of the biggest disservices to horses is when they go out untrained — it puts them back at risk. So we make sure they’re prepared.
Most of our work is with horses, but we also step in for others when we can. Recently, we sponsored Dumpling, a rescue dog who was found emaciated and starving. She’s doing better now and continuing her recovery.
We just rescued Rory, a horse in very rough shape — his body condition score is a 1. He’s fluffy and cute on the outside, but underneath he’s skin and bones from severe malnutrition.
We also just brought in Strawberry, a pregnant mini horse who was way too thin and too young to be carrying a foal. Both Rory and Strawberry are dealing with parasitic infections and malnutrition, which has led to something called big head syndrome (from calcium imbalance). We’re working hard to get them healthy and strong again. Here are some photos of Rory, Strawberry, and Dumpling. We can’t wait to show you what they look like in a few months.

For the latest rescues and updates on all of our horses (and other animals), please check our updates page — we post photos, progress reports, and stories there regularly.
How We Help Them Heal
We board the horses at quality facilities in Ocala, Florida, and give them what they need: good nutrition, veterinary care, parasite treatment, and time to recover. We hope to someday have our own farm or lease one of our own. Some horses will live with us long-term as sanctuary residents. Others will be carefully rehomed into lifetime homes once they’re healthy, trained, and ready.
We Need Help to Keep Going
I can’t do this alone. God has put it on my heart to make a bigger impact — to rescue more animals, rehabilitate them properly, and give them the quality life they deserve. But we need support to expand: for feed, vet care, training time, boarding costs, and future farm plans.
If you’re local to the Ocala area and would like to help by fostering a horse, or providing gentle, natural horsemanship-style training to our rescues, please reach out. We would love to have your help.
You can also support us through donations (one-time or monthly), sponsoring an animal like Rory, Strawberry, or Dumpling, or just spreading the word.
With gratitude,
